The Summer Season has now officially come to a close, as none of the new film opening this weekend stand a chance of taking down Straight Outta Compton from the #1 spot at the box office.

No Escape opened on Wednesday to an alright total of $1.2 million, which should lead it to about $10mil over the weekend. I had very low expectations for this film as it release date had been moved around all year, and it came out with little to no publicity, so with it making a decent amount of money mid week, it should be the strongest of the three films opening wide with week.

We Are Your Friends starring Zac Efron, about an up and coming DJ, should open around $8mil by Sunday.

War Room, a faith-based film about a couple whose relationship is falling apart, but they use the power of prayer to help rectify their crumbling marriage, will open with $5mil.

Straight Outta Compton should have no problem staying in the lead this weekend as it should add an additional $16mil to its already amazing total of $118mil.

Straight Outta Compton – $16mil
No Escape – $10mil
We Are Your Friends – $8mil
War Room – $5mil
